Paul
Nichol is the founder and Principal of Ecosystems. He has been providing information management
and environmental consulting services under the name Ecosystems since
1996. Ecosystems operates
out of offices located in Lindsay,
Ontario Canada.
Ecosystems has
extensive and diverse experience providing cost effective, customized
information management
solutions to private industry, NGO’s and to the federal and
provincial governments. Ecosystems
specializes in custom relational database application
development services, from user requirements/business analysis through
implementation, documentation and staff training.
While one time projects are undertaken, client
needs commonly grow and/or change over time and Paul enjoys
long
term trusted
relationships with many of his clients.
Paul is a graduate of
the University
of Guelph
with a B.Sc. in Fisheries Biology and brings to Ecosystems over 23
years of varied experience in the areas of ecosystems/resource
management. Paul has developed and taught aquaculture, biology and
computer courses at Sir Sandford
Fleming College School of Natural Resources. In his capacity as
Biologist and Resource Technician for the Kawartha
Lakes Management Area (OMNR), Paul gained an intimate familiarity with
the natural resources and related issues in the local landscape. Of key
importance is Paul’s understanding of the accuracy and
limitations of the available data describing resource features, which
are used to constrain or forward permit and planning applications.
Paul is a former
board member of the Kawartha Fisheries Association as well
as the City of Kawartha Lakes Environmental Advisory Committee
where he chaired the Natural Heritage System mapping subcommittee for 3
years.
In 2006 Paul
invited Snider's Ecological Services and D A Bell
Environmental Services to join forces in order to meet the growing
demand for environmental work and to allow him to focus more effort on
the burgeoning information management project work.
